Brief Description:  WORKBENCH CONSTRUCTION

(1.) To build my table, I layed the 4' x 8' table top upside down on a flat surface, and did my construction upwards from there.
(2.) First I installed a 1'' x 4'' pine border around the underside of the table. I decided early on that I would need to clamp things against the edge of the table, and I wanted something underneathe that I could tighten my clamps on without destroying the table top itself.
(3.) I then constructed the legs and table support frame on the inside of the 1x4'' pine border..
I used a combination of wood glue and screws to secure the framework together.
(4.) I left myself some options just in case I needed to move or transport the table to a different location by attatching the legs so that they could be unscrewed and removed, and by attatching the top to the frame with "L" brackets so that it too could be removed and transported.
